Al was raised in a middle class, farming family, the youngest of nine siblings. Al's father started a grain-hauling business and invested in farmland which spurred his entrepreneurial passion. At the age of eighteen Al tragically lost his father to lung cancer and then his mother to brain cancer nine months later. Al then left to join the U.S. Navy where he served four years and left with letters of commendations. Having those life experiences as a young man and acquiring the discipline and fortitude from serving in the United States military, Al turned those experiences and pursued a career in the financial services industry. Al is the Founder of Longtin Family Companies a boutique financial consulting firm that was established in 1992. While Longtin Family Companies is headquartered in Illinois they serve ultra high net worth individuals, families and entrepreneurs across the United States.
